Does anyone have a link to a Nursery Rhyme site that I can use to 'burn' some rhymes onto a disc for tomorrow. I am particularly looking for Mary Mary Quite Contrary and Jack and Jill. Thanks in advance.

From today's Nursery World. The Post Office are giving away some free resources - you can sign up for a newsletter too - some animated DVDs, CD roms etc. Check this website to see what is available. (If you download the PDF of the latest newsletter you can get a brief description of each resource, and the age group of the children it is intended for). I'm particularly looking forward to receiving my Frieze with a CD rom with three worksheets per letter... Hope you find it useful - the ages range from early years to secondary so hopefully you'll find something of interest to your cohort! Maz

Not sure where to put this and I'm switching hats a bit here to my business hat not selling promise but thought it would be of interest. I was talking to my fabric rep for my business who was showing me his new range for 2008.He flicked over his fabric swatches and something large and bright and caterpillar shaped jumped out at me. He had no idea who or what it was. Turns out Makower fabrics have come to a licencing agreement with the Eric Carle foundation.Eric Carle images are very heavily copywrited both here and in the US.At the moment they have just put into production a Very Hungry Caterpilllar range to see how it goes. The first fabric is 3 large pi…

Have any of you seen the flyer in this morning's Nursery World about the Children's Commissioner's new website aimed at enabling children and young people to 'have their say' about their lives? Here's the link if you want to have a look. I've had a bit of a play and I'm not sure what I think about it - there's an early years section where children can answer questions such as "how are you feeling today and why?" or "what is your favourite thing to do at nursery?" by 'drawing' a picture (using pre-determined shapes from a drop down menu). Then you can add text, label it with your name and age and you can put it up on the website if you wish. The flyer seems to su…

I've seen a pack that initially is available only to Sure Start centres. Its called Music Start and is aimed at parents to help them make music at home with their 2-5 year olds. You can sign up for the 3 times a year magazine and also for information on when the packs will be available for other settings. Bongo Club - Music Start

A colleague just sent me this link (I was complaining about the size of the wok we use for role play). Have a look here. Better than a plastic one - and just right for little hands, I think! Maz

I have been given some money to buy books for the preschool children. They range in age from 2.5years to school age and I was wondering if you would help me compile a list of books that you or your children (own or settings) love to read/have read to them!! Any sort of book will do, even if you only have a few seconds to spare, I would appreciate it, and so would my preschool children!! Thank you!
