Resourcs For Heuristic Play

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good list of objects to provide for a heuristic play session with babies/toddlers of say 10-20 moths? I've been reading the book by Anita Hughes and that does contain a list but just wondered if anyone regularly provides this play and has a good collection of objects that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Hi, I am just about to start a mini topic on buiding as we are currently having a new nursery built. I will take the children over to the site to look at the work and hopefully have one of the builders in to talk to the children. I am going to set the role play area up as a builders yard using play tools, builders dressing up clothes, clipboards, plans and paint charts etc. I am also going to use the little vanish pots for pots of paints for them to sell in the shop. We are going to make little bricks out of salt dough and dry them out, cover cereal boxes with red/orange sugar paper and make brick print paper. I have lots of good ideas, but am struggling with so…

Sbs Gym Equipment

Hi, I have discovered I have some extra money to spend and want to spend it on physical play equipment for indoors. We have the usual things - climbing frame, barrel, balances etc so wanted something different - has anyone used this gym equipment and if so what do you think of it? http://www.sbs-educational.co.uk/webapp/wc...ategoryId=38332 This is the KS1 equipment - there is a nursery set in the catalogue (but not online for some reason) which is the one I really want - a 'running' machine, bike and stepper but this shows the general idea. Thanks, Megsmum

I quite often buy Nursery/Child Education and in the spirit of saving money thought I might as well subscribe (I regularly manage to spend £20+ on mags in Smiths when I go in for just one!!) Now here's my problem, I went to the website and clicked on magazines and subscribe now by the appropriate magazine, got sent to the shop, clicked on subscribe now by the appropriate magazine, only to arrive back on the magazine page?????? Anyone know how to order from this website? Don't they want my money???
