Hi all - Just to let you know that I've set up a 'proper' Twitter account for the FSF (previously I just used my own). There's a link to it on the front page (top right hand side) or you should be able to get to it from the following link: @EYFSF Any Twitter addicts are more than welcome to follow us - I was made aware of how useful it can be recently when the FSF recently became unavailable for a while. Along with the Facebook 'FSF Addicts' page of course, which you can find here. I'll be using it for notifications of that sort, and also to highlight interesting topics and other EYFS issues, such as consultations etc. The more observant amongst you will noti…

Hi all - Profuse apologies - we experienced an extended downtime today (not planned) which we're still getting to the bottom of. For newer members, this is the first time this has happened for seven years, and we hope to make it even rarer in the future. One thing that has become obvious is that we need a method of communicating with you if it does happen again, and so I'd like to invite any of you who have felt the absence of the FSF (or Tapestry, or the EYPS forum) today, to follow our Twitter account - @FSFSteve. Hope it wasn't as traumatic for you as it was for me! As you'll note from my photo, I'm not in need of more grey hair or wrinkles!

Well, that went quickly! Ten years ago today I opened the doors of the FSF for the first time. It didn't take long before you began re-arranging the furniture and making yourselves at home, and from then on I've felt very happy acting as the caretaker/handy man. Happy birthday to you all - because you are the FSF. It wouldn't exist without you, and I'd have had to find something else to do with my time over the last decade!

Hi all - We're going to be carrying out some technical work on the FSF in a couple of days (moving servers) which means we'll be unavailable for a few hours. We'll be starting around midnight on Wednesday, and all areas, including Tapestry, will be unavailable from then until we've finished - hopefully at around lunchtime on Thursday. Apologies for the inconvenience! Steve.

Dear all Just a short post to ask you to check the email address that you once used to register your account with is still correct. Some of you have been registered with us for a long time I am delighted to say, so it is possible you have changed email address in that time. I have had quite a few bounce backs recently and I would hate to think you are missing out on information sent from us or if you are a member of an LA scheme, information sent from your LA advisory team. So to check and make any changes required go to ‘my settings’ which can be accessed using the drop down arrow next to your log in username visible at the top right corner of the page wh…

It has to be about time now chaps! Merry Christmas to you all - hope if this year has been bad to you, that next year is much much better; and that if this year has been good to you, next year is as fair! No doubt there will be a race at midnight on Christmas Day to be the first to say Happy Christmas (and little doubt that Jacquie will win the race, or at least to be one of the first to respond) but in the meantime, hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Next year will be the FSF's 10th anniversary and we've been thinking for some time how we might celebrate this with our members. Organising a conference would be exciting and allow many members to meet up, perhaps for the first time, after building online relationships on the forums. We have had lots of ideas at HQ through discussions with our lovely moderators, and now we'd like to ask your opinion..... To start with, maybe you could comment on the following: 1) We are based in East Sussex, and a wonderful venue would be the new Amex Football Stadium, just outside Brighton (situated just beside Falmer railway station). However, we know this is an exceptio…

Hi all - Just to let you know we're planning to carry out another software upgrade tomorrow morning. No major changes and you shouldn't notice much difference afterwards - this is more of a backroom update, and to facilitate the imminent release of Tapestry. But we will be offline for possibly an hour or so tomorrow morning. :1b
