My tutor tells me it is a hot topic , yet I am unable to find anything current in England on this topic. I am sure I'm looking in the wrong place. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Hi I have just started a foundation degree and have been struggling with my first assignment this week. I have been writing about Vygotsky, I have the main body of the assignment but now have to right about the flaws in his theory. I have read loads of stuff this week but can't find anything about this. The only thing I came up with is that the knowledgeable other needs to be able to accurately asses the childs devlopment and interest in order to provide the right level of task to extend the learning. If the child find the task to easy they will lose motavation. If I want to use this I need evidence to back up what I say? I have never written academically before so fi…

I've got all my data ready to go but just don't know where to start with writing it all up/displaying the data. Can anyone help? or point me in the right direction. Hi I am qualified to Level 3 (Children and Young Peoples Workforce) and I am currently working in a pre-school which I love. In the future I would ideally like to work in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant. I have made the decision that I want to study for a degree and have been looking at the FdA in Early Childhood Studies and the FdA in Teaching and Learning. I am so confused at which course would be most suited for me and wondered if anyone could give any advice. Many Thanks

Hi, I am new to this site, and need some help on my dissertation! As part of the dissertation, we have complete choice on our topic, but it has to be something that we can change in the setting. The area I am interested in is transitions and attachment. Currently we have had an influx of 2 year olds, due to the funding; and as such lots of un-settled children. from a personal point I found that my son (now 9) had a terrible time at pre-school and as such found transitions to first and secondary school very hard. I was told and find myself telling parents, just go they'll be fine. But are children actually settling in, after several weeks? The change that I can propo…

Hiya, I am currently studying first year foundation degree and we need to decide on a small scale research topic. I wanted to pick up on the ratio issue in baby rooms but tutor says it has to be ideally linked to my setting. So now I haven't a clue what to do - any suggestions ? Im interested in cognitive development - how differently children think and perceive compared to adults, but feel that maybe this is again too complex. Maybe around communication or how to talk to kids ? everything Im coming up with seems soo complex... thanks to anyone that has any ideas the kids on my books at the moment are one yr olds . feeling rather clueless
