I am in the first term of my early years degree and very keen VERY, not to get a fail grade on my first assignments........ At the start of the course the "D" grade our one tutor mentioned often, as a good starting point for "newbies" sounded really awful. Now however, I'd be glad to get a D and just know that this was done and dusted!! The title is "Examine the role of the adult and the context of the settings in providing valuable play and learning opportunities for children" Lovely eh? I know once I get going it will be fine but I am just not getting going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to get the assignments at least done in a firs…

Hi Has anyone used the Mosaic appraoch tool of "Tours" before. I have to use this as my next activity with OU and just wondered if anyone has any good advice as I'm only at the setting two days a week. How long does a tour generally take with a 3 year old children ? Would it be good practice to do it with more than one child at a time? Am I right in think the "tour tool" also allow's the use of a camera. Sorry to be so vague, having not untook something like this before I wnat to ensure I get it right from the start with time so precious. Sam

i am doing vygostky and piaget in my current essay and wondered if u could give me some guidance on the following sentence or have any other examples of children going beynd their true level of developement in role play thanks Children’s pretend play is important to Vygostkys theory; he believes that it allowed the child to function at a level beyond their true capability. I believe this is demonstrated when children become a character or person that they have not got the ability to trulely be in the present tense e.g. mummy or daddy, tv character

I was going to choose reading in my old placement school with the 3-5 years old children. I have now choose this for my BA (hons) top up dissertation topic so thats next year sorted. But has I now have a new job working with the 2-5 years age group and not knowing how many 2. 3. 4 years old and staff on duty per day, I feel I should do something different like replication i.e. conservation of number that would be simple for me to do. Now this is where I am having fun I am not sure what other simple experiments I could do with this age group.…
