Hello all, just wondering if you could give me a few suggestions... Am doing foundation degree and in second year (feel all grown up now lol) and have to do 4000 word comparitive study comparing my setting (pre-school providing sessional care for 2.6-5 years based in 3 different environments- V Hall and two School halls) to another setting with a focus in mind. Others on my course are considering Forest Schools, comparing indoor/outdoor provision but feel these would not be suitable for my setting as the idea is to then implement something in own setting as result of research Have spoken to leader and she has suggested looking at how pre-schools differentiate age groups…

I would be so grateful if anyone could help me out, feeling really nervous about handing this in Claire x

Hello I went back to start year 2 of my foundation degree today and my whole table has come away totally depressed. Can I have your thoughts please - I am studying FD in childhood studies and this year we have been split into early years and school groups. I am going to admit I was quiet for 30 seconds before I interrupted and went on about planning for indiviual needs, childrens interests, …

I'm in the middle of a BA in Early Childhood Education and am reading a really interesting book at the moment. Thought I would share this! It's Summerhill by A.S. Neill and is described as a 'radical approach to child rearing' It's fascinating reading, around a school set up in the 20's - a school without rules and regime. Neill believes children face unnecessary pressure from adults who want to control them! It's really easy to read (which is pretty unusual considering some of the stuff I've come across) but I have to say I am only half the way through at the moment. Well worth a look I think, especially if you are studying the effects of very structu…
