Hello, I am getting REALLY nervous about starting the FD and wondered what everyone was doing at the start of their course? Is there loads to do? I want to be ultra-prepared, so is there anything you can recommend I invest in before I start? Any reading material, stationery etc? Thanks!

Hi Foundation Degree practitioners I am trying to help my sister with her assignment on self-concept. I can support her with the content but she needs to write her assignment in 'report format' - any one have any ideas what this means....how is it different to any other assignment. She is finding she has little help with guidance on assignment writing and reading materials. I can help with the early years knowledge but not the technical features of the genre! Can't find any websites that are not science/ engineering based Hope you can help LGM

Do you still use the sound sheets..........I like the children to take them home for parents to see but increasingly see no value for the children in terms of an activity....I do a rainbow letter on the reverse to reinforce formation and ask the children to finish the rest at home if they want.

Hi We have had our next induction today, we have our deadlines for our work. Thank goodness I am on the part time course only one piece of coursework to hand in before christmas. We also have to do 2 portfilos for 2 units, one in the new year with a seen paper test, and one at the end of April next year. Plus more coursework for the new units next semester. Oh I feel sorry for the full time as they have more work to hand in before christmas and in the new year. Thank goodness I did not choose the full time course as I think I would be very stressed out. Oh dear I`ve just thought in year 3 I will not have may friends left. Beth

Well I will still pop on and first sign of difficulties i will be back for help, if you don't mind. Anyway that's it, feeling slightly daunted, would love to stay on and read the posts and do some work, however five children are waiting to go to school and then work, then shopping, then washing, then tea, then horses, then more washing, oh and mayble some housework, oh and make some…

I can't belive it's time to start the Foundation Degree in Early Years course. Where did the last week go, it's going soo fast. We have 1 1/2 days on induction/enrolement over the next 2 weeks and then in the last week of September teaching commences. Oh I am very exicted and nervious (never did like starting new courses, complex needs) at the same time. I am exicted to start a Foundation Degree - school always said I would never do higher education and I am also nervious as I have a slow to warm up termperament e.g. takes time to adust to new expericences.
