To start creating your EYLF report, click on "+ EYLF Outcomes" on the list on the right-hand side (3). As you can see on the picture below, there is also a template for 'EYLF Summative' which guides you through reflecting on and summarising progress at the sub-outcome level. Once you have added a relative to Tapestry you are then able to set permissions and notifications for the relative accounts. You have a choice whether you set up permissions to apply to all relatives, or to set up different permissions for individual relatives. To help you decide how you have each option set, we would recommend that you take a look at this article we have written which covers different safeguarding and data protection considerations when adding relatives. To add relatives to your Tapestry account you can use the links below: Adding a relative to Tapestry Creating a CSV file Adding Relatives via a CSV file To then set u…

Whilst you can export children's learning journals as a whole (this tutorial talks you through how to do this) we know in some cases it is helpful to be able to create a PDF of specific observations or a selection of them for different children. In this tutorial I will show you how to bulk export observations from both the Observations and Assessments pages. Firstly, I will show you how to do this from the Observations page. When you first login to your Tapestry account you will be taken directly to the Observations page, but if you are elsewhere on your account, to access this page you just need to click on the 'Observations' tab at the top of the screen (1).…

his tutorial will talk you through how to produce PDF files of a child's journal. You can then hand this out as an electronic copy or produce paper versions to give to relatives. This allows staff and parents to celebrate a child's time at your setting, whether digitally or in traditional paper form! You can use your knowledge of your parents and families to help you decide which format you would prefer. First a quick warning: many of you have told us you're adding a lot of media (300 photos per child per year is not uncommon). I'm sure you can appreciate that this begins to create extremely large files - especially for those of you who have children for four years …

We’ll have a look at those in this tutorial so you can be sure you’re not missing anything! We’ll go through each of these individually, but in brief, the things we’ll cover are: 1) Making sure only the staff members who are still at your setting have access 2) Transferring out and/or removing any children who have left 3) Transferring in and/or adding any new children joining you 4) Making sure the correct relatives are set up 5) Setting up/amending new groups and key children 6) Checking your period dates work for you …

Please note: If you are completing a complex observation, you should save work regularly and then edit to carry on filling it in. Tapestry login sessions expire after an hour and it is also possible that a network blip could void your login session. If either of these things happen, when you press 'save’ on the observation you will be taken to the login screen and your work since the last save will be lost. Adding an observation on Tapestry is really quick and easy; in this tutorial we’re going to look at how to do this on the app and browser versions of Tapestry. I’ll start with how to do this on the browser version. Adding an observation on the brow…
