Hi not sure if this is right place. I just wondered how settings communicate or have been communicating with staff through lockdown? I’ve love using to memo tool to leave information for our families and we have been really impressed with the feedback and parents have commented on how handy it has been. I thought it would be really helpful to have this tool but not to leave information for families but for staff? I’ve tried to see if there is a way but haven’t been able to. I just wondered if anyone else thought that would be a good feature instead of making phone calls or sending individual emails. I had some training information for example that I could have j…

Afternoon All, I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine Unsure if all the bubbling talk, sun or cleaning has freezed my brain but wondered if anyone knew what this actually means? especially the bit in red: Keeping group sizes to a maximum of 8 children, while adhering to EYFS ratios, is preferable so groups are as small as possible. Providers are expected to ensure that there are no more than 16 children in a group in early years settings Does that mean you can have say 12 children and 3 staff in a bubble? (aged 3+) Thank you.x

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekends. Apologies if this is in another thread - please move this if it is or feel free to redirect me. I’ve been lazy and not checked through as I seem to spend all my time reading guidelines etc at the moment. We are reopening on 29th. A small manageable group of 10 children (babies and preschool age) shorter sessions 9-2 . Not cooking lunches so all providing own.Parents hand over outside - we are lucky to have different doors for safe handover of babies and preschool. I feel happy with what I’ve set in place - handwashing regularly, cleaning surfaces regularly and allowing for 1 hr deep clean when children leave…

Have you all seen the latest guidance? Now looks like getting the Early Years Free Entitlement Funding probably means not being eligible for the JRS unless a lot of your income comes from private fees. Unless I've misunderstood. Which is possible!! I've only skim read it as it's Friday night. "The early years section of the new guidance confirms that a private provider should only furlough employees, and therefore seek support through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), if they meet the following conditions: the employee works in an area of business where services are temporarily not required and where their salary is not covered by public fund…

I'm currently working in a Reception bubble of 11 children with three staff. We have children at tables, 2 metres apart with all their resources on the tables. We are doing half an hour of Google Classroom learning (which all the other children are invited to do from home), followed by half an hour outside in a marked zone with their own bike, box of resources and a space hopper. We have tried really hard to keep the children apart and they have responded brilliantly, taking on board social distancing and handwashing. We follow this routine throughout the day with Literacy, Maths and a topic focus followed by a story at the end. My head has asked me to think about Septemb…

Afternoon All, I hope everyone is doing well. Just a quick question (well probably not quick!) has anyone changed their bubbles around? I noticed on the 'Family' website that they say that bubbles should.... Contain the same children for a minimum of one week (Monday to Friday) and ideally longer with at least a weekend between new bubbles So taking from that, that I could change my bubbles around next Monday??? This would only involve a few children moving from one bubble to another, after this week we have realised that some children need to be within another bubbles (due to staff, friends, environment!) Just wondering if anyone else has done …

Hi, can i ask what settings are doing for water play? I have read servel things about the use of different products (chlorine, bleach tablets, very soapy water) that need to be used to ensure the water is safe for the children to play in. Any suggestions or advice?

Looking forward to September when numbers of children have decreased. We would normally reduce staff hours at this point. Can you reduce staff hours while on furlough ? What is everyone doing to survive ?
