Guest Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hi everyone! I was wondering if you could help me. I'm an ICT co-ordinator at a 4 form entry infant school. I want to buy in new computers as our hard drives are not working. I have heard RM do robust laptops....has anybody got any in their school? Are they any good? Are PC's better? We Just thought in a maths or lit lesson you could have a group with laptops then? Any ideas would be great...thanks

I have just this second sent an e-mail enquiry about 'child-friendly' laptops to a nursery in Cambridge - Homerton Nursery School, as I was directed to them during recent training on ICT in transition to and from pre-school. I, too would be very interested in any information. I have had a quote from RM for one laptop - do seem very robust, but too expensive for us. Found Homerton's website very easily from Google - sorry don't know how to do the links. Need more ICT training!
AnonyMouse_64 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Hi, Sorry, had internet problems so have only just managed to read and reply! I am pretty sure that our playgroup laptop is an RM. Every setting around here was given one for free by the Childcare Partnership. It is very robust (and heavy!) and we have had ours for more than a year with no problems.
