AnonyMouse_6361 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hi I sat my first aid course back in 2006, however I never recived my certficate for it and have been chasing it ever since to no avail. Now it looks like I need to resit the course to gain the qualification. I have been in contact with a provider in my local area regarding a first aid course. I have heard of them before although I always did the course at college. They have come back at £40 plus VAT. I have been looking at other providers who have quoted alot more around the £85 mark. I am now wondering what to do, the course itself is next month for 2 days full 12 course, so would meet the required standard. In the place there are 2 validated courses, of which one is the Medic First aid in which I have always done this one. Beth
Guest Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I know the courses are good, also you have to renew every few years or so anyway mate.
Guest Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I did my first aid through st.johns, they were brilliant
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I'm re doing mine next month at the local college.....it's £54 for a 6 week course, but I get 75% subsidy from the Bright Horizons group, so it costs very little.i'm also doing the food hygiene in November, again subsidised from the £48 cost by 75%

AnonyMouse_4544 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 You could check out your Sure Start to see if they offer training. In my area they are offering FREE courses for anyone working in the early years limited one person per setting. The training is being delivered by a company called Lifeforce Training and is two full days.
