AnonyMouse_8965
I need a bit of help with this one. When four and half year olds start school are they regarded as over fives?
AnonyMouse_1195
No sometimes they are called rising fives but they are still pre-school or foundation stage. They are not of compulsory school age until the term after their fifth birthday, so some reception children are in compulsory education during their reception year and some are not. hope that helps.
