Guest
HI we have now settled under the new ownership at nursery and things are going very well . We decided that it would make more sense to move the nursery rooms around because the rooms were underused due to numbers and space requirements for children in each room. we are a four room nursery and have moved three rooms around. The pre-school room is now lovely and big, set up in the format i like and i think will work well for our nursery. the toddler and tweenie rooms look equally nice..... but my god i did not realise how much was involved in moving rooms. It is not just furniture that needs moving but also children's files, toys, art work and the list goes on, as well as the mammouth cleaning operation too. we started friday afternoon, myself and a collegue stayed till 8:30 last night and returned again at 9 this morning, my collegue left at 11, i left at 2:30 (was helped by owners too today,) need to go back tommorow as nursery is not quite sorted, toys have just been dumped here there and everywhere and need sorting. kind of feeling a bit like i have no weekend this weekend, but hopefully it will be worth it. the things we do for our jobs, lol
Guest
Anything to do with changing/moving rooms seems to take much longer than you first imagine! It certainly sounds like you have worked hard this weekend and I'm sure the result will be worth it.
AnonyMouse_7317
I only moved furniture round in one room with my staff the other day which took 4 hours so can imagine what a mammoth task you have on your hands the end results will be worth it i am sure
Guest
Yep, only moved my room around this week, but it took two weeks planning and a whole day to get it organised. I wouldn't mind but my room can only take 10 children so it's not even massive

Guest
Well after having like no weekend to myself, and thus being in nursery, moving furniture and cleaning carpets the move around is complete. the nursery looks lovely and we are pleased with the change. I am so lucky to have three staff, who throughout the weekend / friday night have stayed and helped, fair enough they will get time back, but they didn't have to stay, myself and the owners are taking them out for a meal this week to thank them. it really goes to show which staff are truely committed to the nursery and to helping make it as nice as possible, it has really come into play who my 'good' and 'hardworking and dedicated' staff are. so yay! its done, i am absoloutly shattered, as are the girls that helped, but its worth it... roll on next weekend so i can rest LOL Dawn x
