AnonyMouse_8422 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Do you have a singing/dance/drama/musical time as part of your everyday routinue or do you have a weekly speccial extended activity. What works for you and how do youensure every one has a hit at these exciting activities ifthey attend part time?
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 We have a music session twice a week - for about 15-20 mins. We have an elderly gentleman that comes in and plays the piano - the children absolutly love it - even if he does play a bit off key sometimes (quite a lot really!) We do singing sessions throughout the week also, so the part-timers can have a good old singsong too. xxx
Guest Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 We do songs / physical activity / music every day, the time varies depending on what the children are engrossed in, it's often just 'capturing the moment', although we do try to do something active prior to lunch. We have instruments available all the time in the music area so the children often start their own 'music' sessions too. Peggy
AnonyMouse_1027 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 we are like peggy and add them in as often as we can in a variety of situations
Guest Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 (edited) All the time set up is our music station...the children can access this indepentantly using headphones or as the case is most of the time without headphones.....always breaking into song at nursery (that's the children aswell as the adults!) Circle time - with songs chosen by the children, singing sack & musical instruments. The instruments are away in the cupboard(!) and come out either when children ask or an adult led activity. Yes! I know they should probably be out and available all the time so I'm going to have a selection out in the book corner this term for the children to access. Edited August 31, 2007 by Mrsb
