Help!

I have been informed by the current acting head (real one is off sick) that I am going to have to apply for my job again, as at the moment I am on a 2 term contract and they are going to advertise locally for a permanent post. How do I go about my personal statement with regards to talking about my current post? I'm a little worried about it, as obviously I would like to stay on but will feel strange applying for a job I'm already doing and being interviewed by people I already work withl.

Any help would be welcomed,

Nich

hi tere Nichola. This is quite normal, when a permanent appointment is being made, more often than not, its more of a formality.

I would state the same in your application as if you were applying for a job in another school.. say how you meet the person spec if there is one, what you would bring to the job, what skills you have and what your interests are. sell yourself but obvioulsy dont embellish what you have done.

I have had the pleasure of interviewing a nursery nurser who had been doing the job for a year in our nursery. It was the hardest interview I have ever done, as i worked with her every day, and already knew her strengths and weaknesses.

Hope is all goes OK
