Helen
Hi, Here's one to the tune of 'Here we go round the mulberry bush': Here's what we do at harvest time, at harvest time, at harvest time, Here's what we do at harvest time, At harvest time in the autumn. Cut all the corn at harvest time.... Dig up potatoes..... Share out our fruit...... Pick all the apples..... Gather the blackberries..... The children come up with lots more

Guest
How about "oats and beans and barley grow" at one school they changed the words to "oats and wheat and barley grow" for harvest. or "On the farmers apple tree......." we're doing these for next week. AnonyMouse_2760
Nikki Davies - does a lovely book and CD for each season. I think the Autumn one is called 'Time to Fly' (available from Out of the ark music) We sang 'Thank you lord for the harvest' really simple lyrics, repetitive and easy for the children to learn. The rest of the music is fab too!
AnonyMouse_6716
At a push you could get away with "One Man Went to Mow"! Good if short on songs to fill allotted time ... "65 men went to mow, went to mow a meadow...!!" Okay, it was a bad idea!!
AnonyMouse_8129
Hi I prepared a short service to do in church with parents and the songs I chose were "all things bright and beautiful" - one verse and 2 chorus' worth and of course dingle dangle scarecrow - I printed the words out so the parents coudl joined in then i stood at the front and led the actions - it was excellent fun! AnonyMouse_2776
What about this one? (Sung to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star") Pick the corn and pick the beans; Pick the squash and other greens. It is harvest time you see; Come and share a feast with me. Bring your friends; come out to play; We will call this Harvest Day!
