Guest
definitely about self control!! What about prediction and anticipation, not forgetting of course complete enjoyment!!! Also, fine motor skills in sneaking the chosen object away without giving everyone a flash! Following rules and not peeping - always a tricky one!! Not sure these are expressed quite this way in the Foundation Stage book mind you!

Guest
Here's another of my daft questions - What's Kim's Game? Sal
AnonyMouse_64
You put a number of items on a tray and let the children look at them. Then you cover it up and they have to try to remember all the things on the tray. With my smaller children I just have a small number of items but I remember when I was a Guide we used to play it with about 30 items on a tray. Guest
Thanks Beau, I know the game you refer to, didn't know it was called that. Sal
Guest
Hmm, our Kims Game is slightly more complex in that once the children have all had a look at the items we then cover it up. All the children close their eyes tight (!!) and one child gets to remove an item of their choice and hide it. The other children then have to guess what is missing. Guest
I love playing a similar game to this using 'peg board' puzzles. Child completes puzzle, then close eyes, adult or other child takes one piece away, then guess what piece is missing using memory and the 'blank' inset shape as a clue.
