Guest Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Hi all I am planning a dinosaur dig in line with our next topic and am planning to add some leaves, could anyone tell me where i could get information/guidlines about which plants are and are not safe to use in setting many thanks.
AnonyMouse_10713 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Found this site, and the most useful thing is it has pictures instead of a large list of plants \9usually Latin names) of plants I would know if i fell over them!! http://www.realgardeners.co.uk/goodbadpois...ous_plants3.htm Hope it helps! Don't forget to look at all three pages!

AnonyMouse_75 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I remember this this question has been asked before so it might be also worth searching the old forums
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Off the top of my head, isn't there a list in one of the Ofsted standards booklets, right at the back??At home so can't check.....
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Yes there is a list at the back of the Guidance to National Standards xx
AnonyMouse_11485 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Little Books' 'The Little Book of Outdoor Play' has got a list of plant suggestions at the back - so presumably none of them are poisonous! Gardening with Children by Kim Wilde has got lists of really poisonous / potentially harmful plants.
AnonyMouse_73 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 The list in both EYFS and previous national standards is not exhaustive, for example the humble daffodil is poisonous ....if you eat the bulbs.. yet we all (well many of us) grow them. If you want to look at a thorough list try this one from RHS here
