Guest
We are about to start our seaside topic and as I managed to collect seaweed, shells, pebbles etc from the beach I thought it would be good for the children to examine natural materials through magnifiers, water play and collage. I am a little concerned whether or not it will be OK to use the seaweed - I have washed it and dried it out. Has anyone else used natural seaweed? AnonyMouse_1027
Im sure it would be ok as long as you get the children to wash their hands in antibacterial childrens soap after handling. You could always put a note up so if parents dont want thier children to participate then they can say so.
AnonyMouse_64
Diane, Can't think of any reason why it should be a problem. I agree with hali that they should just be encouraged to wash their hands afterwards. Let us know if you find out anything different though.
