Story Bears Planning

Recommended Posts

Has anyone out there ever done a theme on bears ,Im sure you have ,I wondered if you have any plannning I could have a look at please.Last term we really followed the interests of the children instead of following a topic and ended up with Dora the explorer, spiders,Jack and the beanstalk and Transformers but before the end of term someone brought in a beautiful bear and everyone loved it .The interest was so high I thought I might build on it (they are probably interested in something else now0 but I thought Id be prepared and have a basic outline of this theme.Id really appreciate any ideas to add to mine

Thank you

I used the book Dear Polar Bear ~ polar bear writes letters to all his bear friends around the world and they send him things from where they live so could explore habitats

Don't forget the bears in the Jill Murphy stories - Peace at Last and Whatever Next. And there's also "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and "Polar Bear, Polar Bear" - Eric Carle I think?

..and the Martin Waddell books - Let's Go Home, Little Bear, and Can't you sleep, Little bear?

There's the rhyming books too - This is the Bear series by Sarah Hayes.
