Foundation Stage Profiles - Paper Formats

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I haven't been on for a while but I could do with some help. At the moment myself and the two reception teachers are trying to create our own foundation stage profile format. We have discovered that the booklets are no longer being produced and one member of our team isn't comfortable in using the eprofiles. I was wondering if anyone has any formats that we could look at? We are thinking of an A3 sheet with the ELG written across for each area to highlight when achieved. Any advice would be great.

Thanks so much

I think if you do search you will find a version that has already been donated. Its very small as an A4 doc but could easily be enlarged to A3. It will need the revised statements.

I use an A4 version to report to KS1.

However, eprofile is so easy and efficient. Can your colleague not be tutored?

I agree about the eprofile/ There is so much to be gained from using it, especially if you are updating it half termly like has been advised by our LA. The data that can be gleened from the graphs is excellent- assessment co-ordinators and heads love seeing the value added so clearly. By selecting certain groups or children you can compare girls and boys/ ages/ ethnicity etc.

You can also identify special needs very quickly.

Yes the A3 or A4 overviews of the scale points are a useful tool when in the classroom but the eprofile is even better and given you real analytical data. I would say try to support your member od staff with training and help her/him to see the benefits.

Don't forget that the profile handbook goes out of date at the end of the summer term.
