Listening Skills

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am doing lots of activities to develop listening skills but am running out of them. I already have closing eyes and pointing to keys as they move, counting objects thrown into a tin, Chinese whispers and touching nose every time they hear the word wolf in a story.

Does anyone have any othe ideas?

musical instruments you need two identical sets of instruments one in view and the other behind a screen out of sight. Children are chosen to go behind the screen and select an instrument to play children have to select the matching instrument.

Have you seen the Lola activities from Lawrence Educational?

we have some shakers in sets of 2 which make an identical sound, made from old plastic bottles which are not see through which is important.

Children have to listen and sort them into pairs. They then can guess what is inside.. you can adapt contents depending on children, ours contain water sand, rice, peas and empty ones too.

Have you got the Letters and Sounds document - there are some nice ideas within Phase 1 that you could use/adapt maybe?
