Guest
We always try to do activities to develop children's self esteem, such as spinning the bottle and children saying nice things about the child it points to, drawing around a child and writing nice things about that child, star of the day . . . Does anyone have any other ideas?
Guest
My daughter was in year 6 last year and her teacher used to have a sorry and thank you circle time once a week. I decided to give it a go in year R from time to time. The children really love it once they get going. At the beginning it was lots of thank yous to best friends for playing with them. Now we get thank yous when they notice someone doing something well, being helpful etc. I model the thanking for things I'm pleased or sorry about.
