Guest
What exciting activities have you got planned for your children this week? We are taking boats we made last week to the pnd in the local park to see if they sail (fingers crossed there wont be too many upset children if any of them sink) we are then going strawberry picking on our way back to school. We will then be using the strawberries to make strawberry shortcake

AnonyMouse_10713
We have two dogs at the preschool (toy ones SPOT and DOT) that children can take home/holiday/day out. Similar to Barnaby Bear, the blooming things are very well travelled, over the last two years they have been to Spain, Australia, Scotland, France, Turkey, Euro Disney 4 times!! You name it they have been there!! Over the year all the children get to take them home with them and complete a diary of what they have done and where they have been. It is a brilliant way to get parents involved and for children to talk about their home/family/community. Anyway back to the story, on Friday we had a day of celebration, because it was their 2nd birthday. The week before we made invites and decorations and on the day we made stick puppets of them and decorated biscuits with yellow icing and chocolate buttons. Some of the children made cards for them at home and brought them in!! It was a really great day and we look forward to next year when they are 3!! AnonyMouse_8466
I posted a reply but its missing! I said it would be hard to beat your plans, Lola. Rea: how sad. If only they knew what they're missing out on... Maz
AnonyMouse_8466
Thanks for this Shiny - you've given me a great idea about how to re-introduce Barnaby Bear. He's been out of circulation for a while (we have a small group and everyone had taken him home). Might be just the thing to get him going again! Guest
Hi All What wonderful ideas and activities - children at our pre-school have been making aeroplanes so we have created an aeroplane role play outside and carrying on with their super hero theme-and also carnival coming up (we are doing kids from around the world) - "superheros are flying to Africa to rescue group of children taken hostage by pirates" - also have some haystacks outside for 3 pigs - Dot
AnonyMouse_747
Yes we are having home grown new potatoes for snack tomorrow. We have been to the local farm shop this afternoon. We picked strawberries that we are making into jam on Wednesday. Also having a role play farm shop with real fruit and veg from the farm shop. (It's all their old stuff that they can't sell. A bit wrinkly but the children will enjoy it) Glen
AnonyMouse_480
We dug up our early variety of potatoes today. The children enjoyed washing them and removing the skins, we cooked them and then had them for snack. I must plant some at home next year they were delicious. We close for the summer holls on Thursday so I hope our veg plot doesnt look too bad when we return in Sept. It was funny last year as our pod peas had dried up so much over the summer , we used them as shakers!
Guest
We too spent this morning harvesting our potatoes got over 80 so we were very pleased!!! Went in this afternoon (when we're closed) to weigh them and the other supervisor had taken them home to prepare them for cooking tomorrow! Wasn't very pleased as the children would have enjoyed preparing them. I'm off to SENCO training tomorrow and start working at Glastonbury Weds night straight after work!! Going to Chiltern Open Air Museum tomorrow which will be good as it should be sunny. Brick making, candle making and a lot of tired littles legs...
