Guest
We always have a picket fence that runs around and we make flowers to stick along the bottom and butteflies. It has come in handy in the past for the odd child who is frightened by the idea of bears. Bit like clowns some are just not comfortable so we say the naughty bears are behind the fence and not allowed in the picnic area. We have tartan rugs, artificial grass and I take in a big wicker basket.Mark making in the form of shopping lists, empty boxes of picnic type food. Why not make baked playdough food? Guest
why not base the area around a book? I think it is alone in the woods where a bear gets lost but finds the teds having a picnic. make a bit of a wood add a picnic basket and role play food clipboard lists of contents Ikea have some great bear ears though you can make them from headbands and felt. sue
AnonyMouse_2846
As soon as we start our real teddy bears picnics (snack time outside with teddies) the children role play it all over the playroom (did stop them in the toilet mind! ) Wicker baskets and play food cups and plates etc with a picnic rug it is mobile inside and out. Also invitations to the picnic and chalk boards for the time of the next one. Story books about teddies (theres lots) and a tape recorder with teddy bear rhymes on. However you could do what you have done for under the sea and make a wood have the poem If you go down to the woods .... displayed and have the mat/grass permanantly down with the music books etc ?
