Does anyone know a good song to sing with the children just before going home?

I've finished today but can't stop thinking about next year!! Is this normal??

Thanks all

We sing the goodbye song.

I think it is from Something Special

The words are:

"Goodbye Goodbye,

It's time to run

Goodbye Goodbye

We hope you've had good fun

We say Goodbye

We're happy that you came

We say goodbye

Please come back

Please come back again"

It is a lovely way to finish the session and the children sign it too!

ChickenLicken started a thread about this here. Might be worth a look!

And yes, I'm afraid it is quite normal to be thinking about next year when this one has only juste finished.

Unless of course its just me and you! :o

We sing/sign this song and can adapt it for anything/anyone within the Nursery setting...

'We sing this song together, together, together.

We sing this song together, bye, bye, bye.

Bye, bye ...............(name of child)

ditto

ditto

ditto

until we have said everyone's name including the staff members. We then say bye, bye everyone,

Bye, bye,bye.

(We sign all of the time)

You can adapt this to any situation...

We tidy up together...to make our Nursery tidy...

We are friends together ... we make each other happy...

We stamp our feet together .... we make them nice and clean...(coming from outside play with their boots on)

Etc...

Now it's time to say goodbye, say goodbye, say goodbye

Now it's time to say goodbye

We'll see you in the morning.

We all shake hands and wave goodbye, wave goodbye, wave goodbye

We all shake hands and wave goodbye

We'll see you in the morning!

Sung to the tune of "Here we go round the mulberry bush"

Hi,

we sing all together

where going home

where going home

where going home to see our family

we had a play

we had a play and the day is nearly done

so we ask you all to take care tonight

and keep you safe till the mornings light

where going home where going home

so good bye to everyone

(WAVE GOODBYE TO EACH OTHER)

Hope this gives you an idea

We sing Clap your hands and wiggle your fingers, clap your hands and wiggle your fingers , clap your hands and wiggle your fingers, now its time to go. (home time).

In the morning we replace time to go home with fold your arms together.

and yes I haven't stopped thinking about pre-school, would like to say its normal but perhaps we are all mad!!!!!!!!

We sing

"Goodbye everyone, Goodbye everyone, Goodbye everyone, it's time for us to go. (whilst waving both hands left and right) You could just say it to get an idea of the tune (if there is one!)

"Merrily we roll along, merrily we roll along , merrily we roll along, it's time for us to go. (whilst rolling hands over each other)

Children love it if we speed up and slow down this one and like to guess whether we will go slowly or quickly.
