Guest Wolfie
Whereabouts are you staying Karen? Norfolk...probably my favourite place in the country, lots of childhood memories...but it's quite a big county so day trips will depend on where you are! AnonyMouse_10713
If the rumours are correct you will soon be able to see Johnny Depp there as he is planning a move to England and has viewed a mansion in Norfolk!!! Guest
there are lots of places around here to visit depending on what kind of things you are interested in and where you are based, it really depends on what you are looking for you can actually travel the coast road and call in at many of the small villages and towns along the way all of them will have something different to offer Great Yarmouth has the Pleasure Beach Cromer has the famous crabs just up the coast you have the Burnhams where you can visit the birth place of Nelson Heacham has Caley Mill and the Lavender Farm if you go inland you have Norwich and the castle museum (if you are in Norwich city centre before the 31st August see if you can find all 53 life sized baby elephant statues they are pretty awesome) there are all of the beautiful Norfolk Broads around Thetford and its forest (right on the Cambridgeshire border) there are alot of different places to visit like Go Ape (can work out expensive and has height restrictions and is not for the faint hearted....) Cockley Cley home to Boudicea Queen of the Iceni and the forest itsself theres a visitors centre i think Swaffham and the ecocentre, the giant wind turbines which you can visit (i've never been cos i get vertigo standing on a chair and you have to climb 300 stairs!!!!) oh and if you have watched Kingdom on BBC1 you will find plenty of familiar sights as Swaffham is where its filmed we have a couple of Zoos, the Pensthorpe nature reserve (near Fakenham) and more than a few stately homes like Gressenhall, also Sandringham....just down the road from Heacham...Christmas home to the Queen and the Royal family....you can tour the house and grounds (for a fee) if they are not in residence erm thats off the top of my head i am sure i have missed more than i have put in (i've lived here since i was 8 lol) and i kept it general because i wasn't sure where you would be starting from oh and while you are out there keep and eye out for Johnny Depp....he's a bit of a legend in our house p.s please excuse my lack of capitals in the appropriate places....its very late at night Edited August 18, 2008 by Guest
