Guest
Hi all Just wondered when do pre-schools take on new children? Do you do it straight away (if room?) At the start of each term or half term? Thanks
Guest Wolfie
I always took them as soon as possible if I had spaces!
AnonyMouse_64
We always took them as soon as they were old enough/parents wanted them to come. Some terms we seemed to be settling in a new child each week but at least we didn't have a large group of them all at the same time to content with! Guest
Hi - generally fill up in September from those who have left for school, though we operate a waiting list and fit children in as soon as a place is available - we can't afford to have empty places - Dot
AnonyMouse_8623
We generally take them at the beginning of each term but if we have space and the parents are desperate we will take them anytime.

AnonyMouse_3735
As we only have 3 years and over.. we take them after 3rd birthday any time.. if parents want to pay.. many of ours cannot afford that so tendency is to start term after 3rd birthday.. but turn up mid term they are funded they can start.. if we have room.. It is unusual for us not to have a space.. last year was the first we had to say sorry full... ( 2 sessions a day.. now can stay all day but most only still want 5 sessions in different formulas... parents cannot afford more) Inge Edited September 17, 2008 by Inge
AnonyMouse_6361
We take them in 2 ways for 2 years old: just after they turn 2 years if space or at the start of each half term. Example there was a couple of children who turned 2 in the last couple of weeks, well of course they started just after they had turned 2 years old. Where has the other children had to wait for the school leavers to go before starting as there was no space in April to July. However if there are limited spaces it goes on the childs Date of Birth so 2 years old children will have to wait for a space. Beth
Guest
We fill up at the start of each term (Jan and Sept) due to school leavers. We are lucky enough to never have extra spaces throughtout the term! We take children from 2.5yrs old upwards.
Guest
Hello! We take children in at the start of the term after they are 3. Rarely are we totally full in September, but on occasion we haven't had many places to offer at Easter time! In the private bit of the nursery I can take children as soon as they are three if parents want to pay until funding kicks in at the start of the term after they are three!
