Guest
Hi all,One of our members of staff used to make up a mixture to thicken up our powder paint, unfortunately she has now left and didn't pass on the ingredients. Has anyone got any ideas? I think she used soap flakes?? Thanks
AnonyMouse_10713
PVA glue would do it too!!
AnonyMouse_13457
We use cellulose paste (wallpaper paste that has no fungicide) made into a very thick 'gloop'. This is a great thickener and makes the paint go much further. korkycat

Guest
You can add pretty much whatever you want to thicken the paint. Sand is good. Washing podwer too. PVA glue makes the paint shiny!
Guest pamgreen
We use a mixture called glug. You use 1 cup of corn starch (you get it from boots) add this to 2 litres of boiling water, then add stir in 1 cup of soap flakes. Leave it over night. You then have a fantastic mixture which the children use to mix their own paint it makes the paint go along way. Paint is easier to get out of clothes and you don't need to use water. This then encourages the children to be totally independent.

AnonyMouse_3735
we use the scola cell glue( paste powder 8 down ).. like wallpaper paste but no fungicide.. tis sticks to any paper, can be made to lots of consistencies and children can also stick any other items to their painting successfully.. we also use it for sticking parers and paper mache.. cheaper than PVA and easier to clean up.
