Guest Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 HI ya Has anyone got any ideas we could use as an alternative to a nativity play, oyr paretns like a production of some kind at christmas but we just dont have enough staff to produce a play has anyone any altenatives that we could use, any inspiration gladly appreciated. AnonyMouse_3735 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 We often chose a Christmas book and used that to base a song time on.. someone narrated by reading the story and the children would sing songs at appropriate points .. with dressing up as the characters in the book if possible.. or if not christmassy ones... we have done Shh Santa and several others in this way.. worked well for us too as not much to do except learn a few songs and rhymes.. we had one for parents to join in and think we did a circle song somewhere.. AnonyMouse_1195 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Out of the Ark have wonderful Xmas 'plays' with the music, so you only have to dress the children and learn the songs. It is hard to choose which one as they are all really lovely. http://www.outoftheark.co.uk/?dest=UK
AnonyMouse_64 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Hi, I'm going to move this into the Christmas forum where you will find lots of previous discussions which may well give you inspiration!
Guest Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Last christmas, the children learn't a few (about 5) short christmas songs and we also taught them to sign to twinkle, twinkle little star, they did really well and picked it up really quickly, a lot quicker than some of the staff! We did have a lot of older children though - lots 4 or coming up, don't know if younger children could have coped. Debbie
