Guest
Wondering if anyone can give me any ideas, I'm trying to come up with ideas of what I can look at in preparation for initial parents evenings, it is for 3-4, want to have a sheet with what they can do, if they can get themselves dressed, undo buttons, what else could I look for? And also what they do at dinner time, if they can use a knive and fork, what areas could I break this down into? And what else do you think I should look at so I can talk to the parents? Thanks soooooo much
Guest
Hi, a few ideas that come to mind are fastening coats, putting on hats, gloves and scarfs as this is a big problem in our nursery. Sitting quietly and listening. Washing hands before snack. Do they say please and thank you? Taking turns with toys? Flushing toilet and washing of hands this is another big problem in our nursery. Education side now can they how a pencil correctly? Can they recognise basic colours and shapes? Number recognition? Do they join in when singing nursery rhymes etc. Who they play with do they have a favourite friend? Do they interact with other adults and chldren? These are just a few things i usually discuss at parents evening and usuall put these on a card for each child ready to look at so i can remember for parents evening and always think of a few positive things to say at the end. Guest
Hi there, The previous list looks quite comprehensive, to that I would add separating happily from carer, walking (not being carried) into the setting and settling independently are other little milestones they can achieve. Parents can support in this. Regards Lesley
