Guest
Hi all, I'm writing a report on Why it's important for parents and professionals to share information on children learning and development? I would be very grateful if some early years worker would beable to share their views. Thanks in advance Angela Edited October 27, 2008 by Guest
AnonyMouse_13453
Well apart from it being in the best interests of the child and a requirement of EYFS, can you be more specific?
AnonyMouse_832
Hi snowbell i would look closely at the EYFS CDrom or website section about parents as partners here there are lots of links to research and websites that go into detail about the importance and benefits of parental involvement. Guest
The unknown quantity, unless shared, what happens in preschool and vise versa what happens at home/out of preschool, fitting the jigsaw pieces together. Peggy
Guest
Parents know their children best, up until starting school some children may never have spent any time with any one else or in any other setting. Parents can share their childrens interest and achievements with you.
AnonyMouse_8466
I'd also suggest having a look at Margy Whalley's book Involving Parents in their Children's Learning (or something like that: its a long walk to the bookcase!). I'm sure if you put her name into Amazon the right details will come up! Maz
