Letters And Sounds Phonics...

Hello! I was just wondering if anybody has got to Phase 3 of Letters and Sounds yet? I've started to teach the digraphs ai, ee etc. Last year I followed the order of letters and sounds to a t but this year i'm thinking of teaching the alternatives alongside the initial digraphs that they say to introduce, such as ai, ay and a-e together. I know this isn't what Letters and Sounds recommends. What do people think? Has anyone else done this? Thanks in advance!
