Guest Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Hi 20 mins for staff lunch, thats good. By the time the am parents have left and the staff have finished any discussions with their keyworker parents, setting up for next session, they have about 10 mins, but with no complaints. I have the best staff ever. We are also looking to open the other 2 afternoons. We are only a small preschool, and have 18 maximum a session.
Guest Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Hi all Perhaps with the move towards 'educare' the funding will be able to be used for lunch clubs, and non-educational (or 'care') sessions in the afternoon. The ten year plan talks about parents being able to use their funding across a range of providers such as childminders, after school clubs etc. to bridge the gap between education and childcare needed when parents work. The trouble with all these Government initiatives is, that when the experts get to read them (by which I mean us, ladies!), no-one seems to know the answers to our questions. We'll just have to be patient and see what happens. Maz
