This rings a bell - when I was at Uni (a fair few years ago!) we had a whole block of work on this and did some work on teaching practice about it too. One of the books I used was: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Childrens-Ideas-Sc...r/dp/0335150403 We looked at things like childrens ideas about the earth, moon and planets, plants and plant growth.
