AnonyMouse_64
Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry to our very first competition. The entries are all very good and I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for myself yet! However, there can be only one winner (and one runner up) so get voting for your favourite lyrics. Good luck everyone! I'm going to post the lyrics in a couple of posts below, so that there isn't one massive great big post with them all in. AnonyMouse_64
xfactorlover i'm so glad i'm a teacher, i have lots of fun each day. The children are great fun and love to play we all work together, to get our work done and at the end of the day we go home to our mum. i miss all of the children when i am off ill but i know when im better they'll be there still we all care for each other and help to make each day just as special as the day before so that we all stay. Away in a manger – the owners carol purplewednesday1 Away in my nursery, it’s been a bad day The student phoned in sick and it’s invoices today I’ve sat in my office, the phone it rings on The children are practising lots of Christmas song (s) My manager is stressing, not enough staff at work Too many children and a flu bug won’t shirk We’ve had somebody move away to work in the snow The rest of us wonder if we all should go However ... At Nursery it’s Christmas and glitter fest’s here Despite all our problems it’s a great time of year The excitement of the children and the efforts of staff Making baubles and cards with some tinsel and stuff We love it at Nursery wouldn’t miss it at all The children can’t wait for Santa to call We sing all the songs and make the cards for the mums We create the anticipation for when the big day comes! Be near me my manager I want you to stay Close by me forever and help me I pray Bless all the dear children in our tender care And fit them for big school who knows wherever where! Lorna Another year has past, And what changes we have made. With the new EYFS, Is it here to stay? We are all tired practitioners, With one thing to say. Please stop changing things, We like it this way. The nativity play’s finished, The parents applaud. The crafts have been garnished, With glitter galore. The children are tired, So hard have they worked. In playing and learning, New skills they’ll take far. We’re all ready for the holidays, To spend with loved ones. And come back in the New Year, To have lots of fun. Rea Away for the new year At Burnham on sea Loads of friends will be with us What a lark it will be. We went there too last year And had lots of fun Got silly while drinking And now the troubles begun I spied an open window And played a daft prank At the time it was funny But now I want the time back. I found out last week That plans are afoot To get me back royally I could end bald as a coot. The avenger is known As a prankster of fame I am nervously waiting But theres just me to blame. So drink and be merry As you see in‘09 And spare a thought for poor Rea ‘Cos its big pay back time.
AnonyMouse_64
Maz (both Happy and Little!) I really love the Forum, I look in every day Otherwise I’d miss out on having my say! We started out as strangers, now you’re all my best mates Since we’ve shared our good fortunes and all our pet hates! So Beau if you’re reading can you please move this post? Could Peggy write a sentence of ten words at most? Remind me please Nichola: when can you retire? Cait won’t you accept my ma-in-law’s the most dire? I must mention hali – she’s our own smiley queen Marion has more weblinks than you’ve ever seen! Geraldine’s mug is first class – won after five hours of toil Mundia’s questions were as hard as frozen wintry soil! Narnia loves Marillion (or obsessed it would seem) And Wolfie spends her free time supporting her team I’m running out of verses: I’ve added a few So if your name isn’t mentioned please, please don’t be blue You’re all very special – in your own different ways Helping each other through the EYFS maze So Bezza if you’re listening – will you please just take heed? Don’t make an early years Balls up – give us what we all need. More funding, higher status more time to ‘just’ play And a statutory right to the Forum each day! Bless all the forum members: especially my chums in chat ‘Til next we sit together on our virtual welcome mat! Deb Away with the fairies No brain in my head I've done too much studying I'm off up to bed! I've missed the dear Forum and my friends on here Let's make up a Quorum and go for a beer? My husband is brilliant Of that there's no doubt He's been so supportive And he doesn't shout When there's no more undies or shirts to wear out Only hope it's all worth it Ready for the next bout? My daughter does the cooking My son does some too They're becoming quite good at it Maybe a chef or two? Me, I'll do anything So I don't have to cook Maybe I've gone too far this time Studying sure makes me crook! Inge Writing in rhyme takes up lots of my time I thought i would leave it and not pen a line but entries are few and far in between so thought I should help and write on this theme I already have a badge and a FSF mug thank you for both i don't mean to sound smug Please all have a go and join in the fun you too could be drinking from an FSF mug Christmas is close and I know time is short and while I have plenty I know you have not I wish you all well at this chistmas time enjoy all the fun with lots of laughter and wine Rosina My son although 30, still lives at home His father and I well, we don’t like to moan Girlfriends he’s had many, but wont settle down Hes frightened of churches and the bridal gown My friends all have grandchildren and I have none This great disappointment is due to my son The word commitment he doesn’t understand Any talk of grandchildren has been banned We love him unconditionally and will till the end Excepting one and all, each new lady friend I will smile very nicely and offer cake and tea While asking them the question Do they want a baby? Peggy (As a moderator Peggy's not eligible to win but thought you'd like to read her lyrics again. ) Great entries so far, it'll be hard to choose. The lyrics are fun and do really amuse. This comp has gone national not sure if you know but it's on the 'Wright Stuff' a day TV show. They started on Monday results are tomorrow It's our competition, who said they could borrow? Away in a Manger re-write your own styles I bet ours are better by feet and by miles the winning entry on TV by a group, will be sung lets hope it doesn't get to number 1 so who on the forum wants to be in a choir? and sing our winning entry stood around the hearth fire. I will watch Matthew Wright and check there's no cheat If I see blatant copyright I'll have to delete. korkykat It's winter at pre-school and we are outdoors. The children are playing even though the rain pours. The staff are all freezing, their lips turning blue All wishing they were inside enjoying a brew. "Come on!" says the leader "Lets all play a game. We'll jump over puddles. Who cares about rain!" Then one child falls over, gets soaked to the skin. "I'll sort it!" grins the leader and rushes her in. Now there are two adults left out in the rain. The children don't bother- they play just the same. The wind starts to howl, blowing leaves from the tree And the children all chase them shrieking loudly with glee. The adults join in and they soon feel quite hot, No longer fed up and bemoaning their lot. " Can we have some bubbles?" pipes up one bright voice. "Of course" say the adults "We welcome your choice." The machine that makes bubbles soon starts to perform And bubbles galore soon drift o'er the lawn, The rain - it is stopping and here comes the sun! The children keep playing - we're ALL having FUN!
