AnonyMouse_14268
We recently borrowed this fab book from the library and ended up giving all the children a copy for their Christmas present. I am going to do a theme on this when we return to school as it is so popular and it might even fit in with all the boys who insist on playing Ben 10 all the time. Just looking for some more ideas of activities that will fit in.
AnonyMouse_379
You could go into the idea of space- See where the children want it to go.... Its a fab book though.
AnonyMouse_13453
Great imaginative activities - using lots of resources - plus underpants of course - which they could decorate - could they dress up as an alien? Paint a picture of their favourite alien? Make one with 'junk' Try 'alien' food (loads of stuff you could get them to try) Dance like an alien make splatter pictures that look like star systems to show the planet their alien comes from ............ Read the book 'something else' to think about how an alien would feel, being different from everyone else
Guest
you could make the role play area into a space rocket - have a look on sparkle box they have some signs etc you could use. We also put the tuff tray into the role play area and pretended it was the moon - we put coloured sand and rice into it as well as different coloured plastic chips and different sized rocks - was fab for sorting and classifying activities. The children brought in their wellies and we made moon buggies from the large construction too. On one of the sticky kids CD there is a song about zooming to the moon - think it is "bend and stretch with sticky kids" but not sure as my copy is at school. We also read "whatever next" and made picnic food to have on the moon and collected things we could use to travel to the moon from different parts of the school.
