I was just wondering if you ever managed to find any and if so where from? I have been trawling the internet looking for some reasonably priced ones. ELC has nothing as far as I can see and neither does ebay. Anyone know of anywhere else I can buy a nice set of artic animals, preferably plastic rather than wood?

Have you tried your local toyshop? There's a range of plastic animals - similar to 'Britains' type, Schuco or some foreign-sounding name. I know they have polar bears because I've bought them in the past

It's SCHLEICH and you can get them in most toyshops and Toys R Us!! Expensive but anatomically correct and all to exact scale - so you can't beat them!!

Wow they are expensive and Toys R Us don't seem to sell the arctic ones anyway :o

I'm hoping to persuade the head to buy them so it would be better if I could find a set of them from a shop or educational supplier but I seem to be out of luck.

Galt used to do an Innuit village set but that was wooden. We got all of ours from Early Learning Centre, polar bear, penguins, arctic fox whales, etc. I'm sure I saw a polar bear in our store recently.

Hi just an up-date, have just rung our Early Learning Centre store, they don't have any arctic animals left they also said that they had had them in a complete set in a tin - all these items had been in the sale recently and have gone, they don't really sell individual animals through the website, she suggested I tried one of their larger stores to see if they had any left - perhaps arctic stuff is seasonal!

i see in the latest Galt Catalogue they are quite expensive there is a set called Ice and Snow Deluxe for£49.95 and the Inuit house is a similar price (not comfortable with this item though - I think it would perpetuate the theory that all Inuit people live in igloos, rather than some of them continuing with the old ways and to use them just as overnight places to shelter when they are out hunting)

Tesco had a set of arctic animals at Christmas which were a good size-wild animals and farm animals too

Darn I seem to have 'missed the bus' so to speak with many of these, obviously Christmas was the time for getting hold of them. Thanks for all the info though I'll keep looking and hopefully something will turn up. The ones on that Bumble site seem quite nice as a starting set so I might get them and hope to build on them later for more variety.
