AnonyMouse_2732
I think this has been discussed before, but can't seem to find what I'm after in a search. We have at long last managed to acquire an interactive whiteboard, but now we have nothing to use on it! Can I ask for some suggestions from you lovely lot, as we can't really afford expensive mistakes. Thanks, Sue

AnonyMouse_11485
The numicon software is really good, apart from the fact that you can't write on it, which is the only drawback. Paint programs and the 2simple collection are all really good. Lots of the things that you would have on individual pcs can be used really effectively on IWBs to work with larger groups in a different way than you would with just a couple of children. Also I make lots of my own things with the notebook software, especially for letters and sounds. I think teachers TV might have an ICT resource review - that might have some ideas? A lot can be downloaded onto your computer so you dont have to be actually online to play them. AnonyMouse_8466
We ordered our ingredients for our current buns on the IAW I hope you're making more than five - otherwise it won't be worth the delivery charge! Would love an IWB for our littlies (and us biggies) but I'm sure they won't stand being hauled out of the cupboard everyday! Maz

Guest Mrs Tiggy Winkle
I found my reception class loved seeing photos of themselves, so used to use power point slides and add simple text with them, that we could read together. Then adapted it further by linking to an alphabet slide, so that they needed to 'click' on the correct letter to find their own picture - so clicking on 'H' would bring up Henry, Harry, Hannah etc.

Guest
I found my reception class loved seeing photos of themselves, so used to use power point slides and add simple text with them we have the 'my pictures' as the screen save on the laptop that serves the IAW which shows a slideshow of this years photos when its gone to sleep (although it distracts the children to much at carpet time so we have to shut it down). The children love it and all photos are copied into the folder.
Guest
This is really interesting, I have some money (grant) and am planning to buy an IAW, can anyone recomend a good company? I will have to have a carpenter make some kind of cover for it as the room is shared with various age groups and I just know that at drop in the kids will draw on it. Does anyone think this will work? I know you can get them on wheel, as Maz said i'm not sure our storage facilities are up to keeping it in goo enough nick.
