Guest
I wonder if anyone had come across a helpful booklet that will inform mainstream schools about a child joining them with asd. It would need to be completed by both parents and setting. Thankyou!
AnonyMouse_13453
Hmm, I've not come across a proper one, but we did make one of our own a few years back. We put pictures in of the little boy in our setting and in theirs - with our staff. Pictures of the new staff he'd have and of things he particularly enjoyed - mainly Thomas and Pingu and how we used this in assisting his learning. We listed triggers and the strategies we'd developed for anticipating these and dealing with them when they occurred.

AnonyMouse_8466
we have done similar to Cait - our borough called it a 'passport' We have had one of these for a child in our setting going to school - worked very well when it was made available for all who were working with the child to have a look at!
