Concentration Activities

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas for developing concentration with small groups of children? I already have Kim's game, hiding objects under buckets for children to track when moved, who is missing? and passing balloon around circle without throwing or dropping it.

I am looking for some new ideas. :oxD:(

my children are mostly 2 - 3 year olds and at circle time they like to play "teddy bears, teddy bears......." (its my own version of very simplified simon says) I dont try to trick the children out but just praise who are "listening the best" and doing what's been said (ie teddy bears, teddy bears touch your heads)

towards the end of the game I say

"teddy bears, teddy bears hide" (they all cover their faces) the room goes silent for a short moment then very slowly (so that I can enjoy the silence myself) I say "teddy bears, teddy bears 1...2...3...BOO!" it takes a few turns for the children to learn to wait for the count of 3 before shouting "Boo" but they like the fuss of being praised for listening
