AnonyMouse_21386
HI everyone, i'm new to this site and have never posted before. i am also new to nursery management and feel it's really important to involve parents as much as possible, especially working parents. i have done parent questionniares and am organising an open day, i just wondered if any one else has any suggestions as obviously parents know best how they would like to be involved, especialy dads as they can be hard to reach. many thanks Hannah

I think as long as you keep trying its the best you can do. Good luck Sam

Guest Wolfie
We have "Stop 'n' Chat" weeks when parents are invited to....stop and chat with their child's keyperson about their progress, development, interests, etc. We try to make it sound as informal as possible so that no-one is scared off! The weeks are proving very popular, more and more parents take part each time. We are also introducing a "WOW" box an idea that I nicked from here!) where parents can post a quick note about something that their child has done at home that's made them think "WOW"! Maybe a first step, first word, completed a puzzle or maybe something like the fact that they enjoyed a favourite story snuggled up on the sofa with someone special! These notes will be added to the children's learning journeys. By the way, welcome to the forum, Hannah!
AnonyMouse_4619
Recently we got the parents to send in photos of their children enjoying the recent snow to put in a scrap book. We had a really really good response.
