AnonyMouse_13306
I have been sending learning journals home every half term but have found out others have been sending them home every week. I would appreciate some feedback on this.
Guest
We ask parents to add to them and keep them in the bookbags so that we can access them. It works well with most but some don't come back and we have to chase them!

Guest
All sorts of things really. They started off just as a notebook for parents comments to accompany any homework that we would like the children to do at home- look for things beginning with a sound etc. they have become a source of two way communication with parents writing notes about what they've been doing at home, toilet training issues etc. Some parents use them all the time, others return them blank

AnonyMouse_13453
Ours stay at Preschool too. We have small diary notebooks which live in children's bookbags and go backwards and forwards each day and are used for wow moments, general info and photos of various activities. Parents put the same sort of things in too
AnonyMouse_19920
we invite parents in each half term to look at books - some we send home ( with parents we know will send back promptly as said before you end up chasing them as keyperson wants to continue filling them in.) but we find many parents still think of us as just a pre-school and dont want to know how or what their child is doing do other pre-schools send out notes each session ?
