AnonyMouse_20414 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Hi Happy Maz You've probably had enough of this thread but just thought of another book I used to enjoy reading in a previous nursery; 'Billy's Belly Button' - it's about a huge elephant that can't find his belly button because he has so many folds/wrinkles I must think about this story when I have a pile of easter eggs in the fridge dottyp Quote

Not in my collection but should be.... Quote
AnonyMouse_8466 Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 So here's today's list.... I had no idea I would get so many responses! I did wonder whether we could do a poll to see which is our all-time favourite book but I think that may not be feasible. I'm not sure if there is a list of books in the resources section, but I will do a bit more research (ISBNs, likely cost on Amazon etc) so that I can draw up a comprehensive list (and tick off which ones I've read and see which ones I'd like to buy! Thank you all for your contribution - keep your ideas coming if you haven't posted! Guest MaryEMac Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Congratulations Maz. I read your post and then wrote my list. Then I read everyone else's posts and had to keep changing my choices. In the end I could only think of two that hadn't been mentioned, they are: A squash and a squeeze. Don't forget the bacon. Just remembered another The enormouse turnip. Mary Quote

Guest Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 LOVE all these books plus..... Bear (mick Inkpen) Moles can Dance (Richard Edwards) The Most Obedient Dog in the World (Anita Jeram) My daughter's ALL time favourite when she was little was Bill's Belly Button by Anita Jeram. AnonyMouse_20414 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I demand a recount! How many choices is Dotty allowed? Beau - just can't help myself - I went into work this morning and found myself looking through the book rack. Didn't dare tell the staff what I was doing because they would think I'd finally lost the plot if I'd explained this thread Would be interesting if Happy Maz has the record for the longest thread?? I wonder if there is any way of finding out?? Quote
Guest Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 As my favourite books have long since gone on the list I decided to go with my 4 year old daughters instead Ness the nurse Count down to bedtime You choose - really fires her imagination, Well done Maz, Quote

I think dottyp you may have exceeded your choices by one! And as for the longest thread, the 5th FSF birthday thread currently has 708 replies, so this thread is (fortunately) a long way from being the longest... now please don't take that as a challenge, lads and lasses! AnonyMouse_8466 Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 please, please can I add rhymes for annie rose by shirley hughes Well at the risk of being too strict, I fear you would need to remove one of your three choices to make way for it, dcn. Otherwise Beau will complain again! Quote
AnonyMouse_64 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Well at the risk of being too strict, I fear you would need to remove one of your three choices to make way for it, dcn. Otherwise Beau will complain again! You could up the number we're allowed to 5. I'm sure you'd love it if we all came and added on a couple more books each. Quote
AnonyMouse_1195 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Brilliant suggestion Beau but Maz will need to update her rules. Of course she can do this in the light of her evaluation of this thread, should she feel the need to revise her objectives as a response to our interest, and therefore develop our thinking...or summat.
