I am so glad I've found this forum, it has been a huge help with my practice!

I am a childminder and I do find it hard to come up with creative ideas and messy play ideas sometimes and as I work on my own, it's hard when you don't have someone to bounce ideas off.

I've only been a member of this forum for a few weeks when I got a leaflet through my door but it's been a god send and I love it!

Thanks everyone!

Jennie

Careful though: at work people have almost begun to duck when I start any sentence with "I was on the Forum last night and they were talking about..." :o

I can identify with this - my work colleagues think I have taken leave of my senses!!!

A warm welcome to Jennie and Sam - looking forward to 'talking' to you!

Well, they do say that two heads are better than one! And the more members that join in, the more there is to dip into. The worst thing is that you can get a little over enthusiastic and set too many projects in motion at one time which are then doomed to never get finished. :o

Well then, I virtually recommend that everyone should let the addiction take over, just go with the flow, don't fight the addiction, the withdrawal symptoms are too 'lonely' to contemplate........................in fact if I was still an employer of early years practitioners I think I might even make it a mandatory requirement of employment to log in to FSF at the very least one day a week. xD:o

Hello Jennie, Welcome to the forum, thanks for your thanks, it's lovely for everyone to know they are appreciatted xD

Hello samfrostie, a warm welcome to you too. So, what particularly are you going to tell your colleagues on Monday, what in the forum caught your eye and inspired you to want to share?

Thanks for the warm welcome Peggy and Sunnyday xD and HappyMaz people already duck because i've always got ideas, they dread it if i go on course but im lucky because the pre-school leader is exactly the same!!!

As for ideas im going to share Peggy, lots of things and I've only just joined particularly ideas of how to involve parents. It has also been useful in reading that we are not the only setting that has difficulties with outdoor play because we are in a hall and other associated problems with having to pack up everyday. Makes us feel better about when Ofsted come in!!!
