Hi all, I wondered if anyone could share their experiences about off site trips? We are planning a whole setting trip to the zoo in June. There will be roughly 60 children and we want a ratio of 2 children to 1 adult. We have 2 particularly challenging children though, would we be out of order to say the parent has to come with them? I don't want to discriminate but I really think it would be impossible to take the children without the parent. we are planning on having maybe 5 or 6 groups with 2 members of staff in each group. How do we go about keeping the children "safe" though? do all helpers have to be crb checked? with 2 staff members in each group we were thinking that if any children needed the toilet etc then 1 staff member could take them while their children are looked after in the group - would this squash the need for all the crb's as the child will never be left alone with an adult? I'm sure there's more questions but I have forgotten them
