Guest
How does anyone bring their children in in year R?
AnonyMouse_64
Hi colesk and welcome to the forum. Could you perhaps clarify what exactly you are asking? Are you asking what people do prior to the children starting school, what happens in the first few weeks of year R, or generally how people deal with the morning arrival of their class throughout the year? Guest
Hi we do this with the local school.. We are a rural pre-school not attached to the primary scholl in the village. We normally run for mornings only but in the spring/summer term we run an afternoon club for the over 4's. We work along side the school with the way they engage the children in writing and math skills. Using name cards made out in the same format. We do a 12 week time table and visit the school for any thing up to a whole afternoon. This varies and this term we are having 5 visiting sessions, throughout the 12 week term. We are interacting with the year r teacher and making an all about me poster, which includes family and intersts and most inportant a picture of the child. We take these up during the 2nd half of the visiting sessions and leave them with the new teacher. Its a lovley way to assist the children in transition, the children are loving it this term. Hope this helps. Kat Edited May 14, 2009 by Guest

AnonyMouse_4544
My class will all come in full time from the first week in September but we don't have traditional transition "problems" as the children attend the FSU and know me and the setting.
