Guest Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) Looking through my portfolio's this is what I have: Kolb - learning styles Gardener (Howard) - learning styles Cathrine Corrie - EI & EQ Dewey 1933 suggests that reflective thinking is an active, persistent, and careful consideration of a belief or supposed form of knowledge, of grounds that support knowledge. AnonyMouse_8466 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 How about the work of Donald Schon and Chris Agyris? Here's a link to infed.org which talks about some of his ideas about reflection! Good luck simcity: keep thinking of that lovely feeling when you hand it over! Maz
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Good luck, simcity.........................I'm not handing in, due to what's going on in my life, I'm well behind with the work, so they have given me an extension until August, which means I won't graduate with my class. No funny hat for narnia!!
Guest Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Hi Thanks for all your advice..... i am nearly there just have a few gaps in my literatre review..... i.e opposing views to self reflection, have lots of positive's but not many negatives... do you think i need to put negatives only we were told to put fors and against.... which I'm struggling with.... or am i just pulling it apart too much... sorry brain is definetley scrambled now!!!we were also told to do a minimum of 1000 words in this section... i only have 723..... ohhhh!!!! Can anyone think of any negatives against self reflection...
AnonyMouse_23722 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Absolutely - that we spend so much time reflecting that we fail to deal with 'today' and what's important and great about what we are already doing. Does the Ofsted Self Evaluation Form have anything that you could use for reflecting? Or staff Self-evaluation proformas?
AnonyMouse_8466 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Can anyone think of any negatives against self reflection... I'm often accused of being too reflective, and of being too self-critical. I think sometimes there is a danger that we might over analyse every situation and not allowing ourselves time for new practice to bed in and become part of what we do everyday. Perhaps we might spent too much time reflecting rather than doing! Maz
