Guest
Hi all, My setting is a bit stuck. We can no longer obtain forms for CRB checks either from the CRB themsleves or Ofsted. We are told that our setting is too small and need to find an independent body to do it on our behalf. We have contacted our local 'childcare advisers' and no one knows the answer! We have a new committee members to check and new staff and we can't! I'm appauled! If there is anyone else who has had this problem, would be great to know what you did about it. ppp
AnonyMouse_4869
have you tried a company like TMG or Capita?
AnonyMouse_12805
I think all groups are now regstered with one of 3 (advised) agencies, as stated above. But your EYA team should know this. We had to register with them a few years ago but Ofsted should still be doing your committee? Or am I right off track here and they have changed yet again this year? AnonyMouse_19762
I have used Capita - very efficient and helpful. How can your 'advisors' not have an answer to that sort of question? Pl..ea...se!!!

I use TMG - very efficient (especially at pointing out when I send half the information etc!)
Guest
I use TMG for staff and Ofsted for committee

Guest
Thanks will try those suggested. Ofsted told us last month that they won't do committee ones!
Guest
I am very confused as Ofsted are currently doing two committee forms for us. Oh yes of course that's because they are Ofsted and their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing!
Guest
After another call to Ofsted, they do still do committee clearances! ppp
Guest
After another call to Ofsted, they do still do committee clearances! ppp Yup, Ofsted have the EY2 form which is used for vetting committee members. We use Capita for both staff and rota parents checks (we CRB check everyone who spends any significant amount of time in our setting). Playplayplay - you operate in Gloucestershire don't you? Who did you speak to for this advice - was it BBIC? I am very surprised that they couldn't tell you what you needed to know... DDC
Guest
Correct Daddydaycare! BBIC, woman on end of phone said "oh I don't know, you might find something on our website". We previously had support from PATA, who were amazing and as yet BBIC are nowhere near as helpful. And then we get Ofsted contradicting themselves - I feel quite alone in the support my Playgroup receives. *calms down* ppp

We were very fortunate in that the PATA Fieldworker for our region has become the BBIC Fieldworker for our region, so the change has been pretty seamless for us. I have to admit though, I called BBIC once, got nowhere, so just called the Fieldworker direct and have continued with direct calls to her rather than going through the "proper" channels. PATA were superb - real people working in a specialised sector for real people. BBIC are just some great overblown corporate entity doing things in a corporate way that neither suits nor helps our sector. Glos CC got it very very wrong indeed when they awarded them the contract for these services... DDC
