Guest
Hi Everyone, I have heard that you can make something that resembles 'slime' for the malleable table. Any ideas along with the recipe for it? Thanks a lot Naomi
AnonyMouse_468
We use soap flake slime. Sprinkle about 3 cups of soap flakes into a litre of water with added food colouring and let the children use hand whisks until a the mixture becomes slimey and frothy. We sometimes use mixing bowls for the children to try this individually or we fill the water tray and add other resources such as dinosaurs in green "slime" (a swamp) or cold weather animals in white slime (snowy environment). AnonyMouse_64
Jackie, Is it something you need to change daily or will it last a few day? We're doing dinosaurs over the next two weeks (to keep the children's minds off of Christmas until as late as possible ) and would be interested in using this. AnonyMouse_468
Beau, We leave it in the water tray for 2 or 3 days at the most - it does start to get a bit yucky but the children love it! Jackie
Guest
Thank you for your replies. I will try out the suggestions. I particularly like the idea of adding dinosaurs etc Naomi
AnonyMouse_3735
while only anle to use once we also use shaving foam. Look for the ones with different smells the lime is particularly good - we add anilams found in cold climates, penguins, etc children spend ages with it. Use shaving gel on wet hands and watch it increase in size and change in texture etc. facinating to watch and with the shower gels in areosols lots of smells too. we also used a cooked cornflour mixture- to make a thickened paste and added soap flakes to melt in it gives a different texture to soap flakes. just be careful to ensure all hands are well rinsed after these and no soap allergies for children prone to eczema. Guest
Inge, You mentioned a cooked cornflour mixture, is it just cornflour and water or something different? Thanks Naomi
